I Need Your Help and Your Vote

Well, it’s that time of the year again. It’s time for the Shorty Awards. If you’re not familiar with the Shorty’s, they’re an award to honor the best in social media. There are some really BIG awards and some smaller awards. I am nominated for one of the smaller ones and that’s where I need your help and your vote

If you’ve been around for a while, you may remember that I was a finalist last year in the Shorty for #Mom in Social Media. I managed to beat Britney Spears AND Justin Bieber’s mom (for reals, y’all) and finished in the top 5. This year, they’ve changed that award and it’s now called the #KeepGoodGoing award and it honors moms and dads in social media. I was in 3rd. Then 5th. Now I’m in 8th. I’m not expecting to win the thing but I would love to be in the top 5 and the only way I can do that is with your vote.

Why do I think that I deserve your vote? Well for one, I am real. I am not a celebrities mom. I am a mom just like all of you. I just devote a lot of time to trying to bring information, humor and sanity via social media. I do that here and I do that over at Ten to Twenty Parenting. I am passionate about getting good information out as well as educating parents on the latest fads in social media and ways to maneuver the social interwebz with your kids.

So, how can you help?

If you’re on Twitter, all you have to do is click on the link below, authorize your Twitter with the Shorty app and enter a reason why you’re nominating me… whatever you say will make me happy. But if you’re really stuck, here are some suggestions:

I’m not one to beg and this will probably be one of the few times that I ever ask anything of you. But if you could do this, I would really appreciate it. I don’t mind losing to real parents like us, but it chaps my ass to lose to celebrity parents that have no clue that they’re even nominated. That’s just not fair. (did I really just say that?!) Just a note, I get nothing for this but bragging rights.. no cash, no trophy, nothing.

So…. won’t you help a sister out? Do you think there’s any way we can get 300 votes between all of us? Are you up for the challenge? I know we can do it! If you are so inclined, you could help me champion my case with your twitter followers.. I mean – if I were having another kid, I would totally name it after all of you.
