How Do You Celebrate Family Milestones?

I’ve always been a bit of a sentimental person and when it comes to milestones in our family, I can sometimes go a little overboard. I have been known to bake cupcakes and throw a making memories and milestonescelebration for many firsts that aren’t exclusive to birthdays and first days of school. While I’m not the parent that gives a trophy just for showing up to play, I think you can pat someone on the back and let them know that they’re doing a great job and that we recognize they’re doing great things.

When I was growing up, my Grandfather worked for Southern Bell and was a very active member and volunteer of the Telephone Pioneers of America. While I don’t remember what he did, I know that every year he and my Grandmother went to their annual conference and every year he brought back this little cedar box and give it to me. I loved these boxes and would use them to hold my “memories” of things that were special to me. Usually it was concert tickets, corsages from dances, cocktail napkins from weddings and more. I’ve often wished that I could find more of these boxes so that I could give them to my girls for them to use them as their own memory boxes.

Netflix is such a big part of our family time that it’s great that they have a huge selection of movies and shows that can celebrate your family’s milestones right along with you!! Best part is that they pretty much cover ALL the bases!!

Here are some great ideas for movies that will celebrate the younger family members big moments:
